This module compiles and analyses three years of financial and operational information in order to produce a 15 page MFI Desk Review report. The module includes a detailed presentation of each MFI, describing:

• Institutional Background
• Detailing Balance Sheet
• Income Statements
• Cash Flow Statement
• Financial Projections
• Key Ratios
• Portfolio Structure
• Client Breakdown
• Governance Structure
• Liability Holders, etc.

Information is available in both graphical and data series format.

The Credit Risk report is a internal rating based on on-site interviews and credit scoring assessments. Analysis is based on both past quantitative performance and future risk outlook and features a total of 55 indicators.

The output is a two to three page MFI Credit Risk Report which breaks down the key dimensions of the rating analysis, compares it to benchmarks, and devotes a full page of narrative to grade output.

The Social Responsibility rating assesses the social mission and level of stakeholder responsibility of MFIs and puts particular focus on ESG metrics. The tool ranks MFIs from those which are the most socially oriented to those which adhere to less ethical business models and contains 100 quantitative and qualitative indicators which are split into seven different dimensions:  

• Social Governance
• Labor Climate
• Financial Inclusion
• Client Protection
• Product Quality
• Community Engagement, and
• Environmental Policy.

The Monthly Monitoring module provides investors with the latest information available on their MFIs. It provides information in both graphical and data series form, with trend analysis on over 50 key indicators being updated every month. The module covers:

• Balance Sheet
• Profit and Loss
• Information on Staff and Clients
• Key Asset / Liability
• Risk, and
• Profitability Ratios.

Quantitative reporting is complemented by a watch list of current risk factors, periodically updated through monthly interviews with each MFI.
