Micro-Credit Provides Little Help for Poor

Korea , June, 30 2006 - With the gap between rich and poor widening at an alarming rate in recent years, policymakers are scrambling to find new ways to fight poverty and strengthen the position of working-class citizens. However, the introduction of micro-credit _ the provision of small amounts of finance to people of little means _ is among programs that have proven ineffective in redistributing wealth to poor.
