Warsaw, Poland, February, 15 2011 - The Microfinance Centre (MFC) is pleased to announce its plans to set up and run the Social Performance Start-up Fund for country level and regional microfinance networks – a facility to provide technical and financial support to networks willing to start their activities in Social Performance.

The launch of the facility is planned for May 2011. This initiative will be funded by the Ford Foundation. Strengthening support for networks to engage in Social Performance has been identified by the Social Performance Task Force as a top priority for advancing practice of social performance in the microfinance sector. The MFC initiative complements and builds on this idea as well as other initiatives and resources targeting microfinance networks.
