Yemen to establish micro-finance banks

Yemen, January, 17 2008 - Governor of Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed al-Samawi said that the bank management is currently discussing a draft law related with establishing banks for microfinance in the country.

In a workshop over the management risks and credit organized by the Union of Arab Banks and Yemeni Banks Association, al-Samawi clarified that the new law would enable the banks existing to donate micro credits under CBY's control and encouragement.
